Tom is a HR professional with 15+ years professional experience managing significant projects and HR functions in the Construction, Energy, Utility, IT Services, Real Estate and Financial Services sectors; in both unionised and non-unionised environments. Tom has managed on-going HR operations and HR transformations; developed green field operations; established, closed/ relocated and downsized businesses and acquired & integrated businesses.

Tom has previously led HR operations at international business unit level (circa 1000 employees) and has held global HRIS responsibilities (circa 20, 000 employees). Since he became an independent HR Consultant in 2004, Tom has worked on major organisational change and international HR assignments; undertaken Executive Search work; managed TUPE transfers.

Tom specialises in HR systems, Employee Relations and Organisational Change. Tom's early career was in the electricity supply industry where he worked for The Electricity Council and London Electricity (now EDF). After a brief spell in the Oil industry working for Amerada Hess, he moved to Logica in 1998 where he carried out a number of senior HR Management roles in HR Operations and HR Systems.

Tom left Logica in November 2004 and set up Business People Matters. Since then he has worked on a number of assignments including for BT, Jones Lang LaSalle, Bovis Lend Lease, SonyBMG, StepStone, RBS Balfour Beatty and Durham University.
